In the state of Texas how long do you have to wait before revoking a parents visitation rights when the parent has nothing to do with the child

You cannot do it; you must ask the judge to do it. The other parent will have to be served and have an opportunity to respond.

It is not unusual for a parent to be out of a child's life for some time and then become a good parent. Judge's know that and will usually give the parent a chance to prove himself or herself.

Of course, if the other parent does not want to respond, then that will make it easier to change the possession schedule, but if he or she is not asserting his or her rights why would you want to open that issue up.
