Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
In the state of Texas, if a wife wanted to devorce her husband and her husband did not want a devorce. What rights does the husband have to stop or prolong the marriage in order to further their marriage counseling. What kinda time line is there before a hearing is made and a judge grants the devorce?

There are ways to delay the final hearing in a divorce case (some lawyers are MASTERS of the delaying techniques. I could give you a list of names).
It can take as long as a year to get a divorce if one party decides he wants the final hearing delayed.
If one party wants a divorce, the couple will get a divorce.
Most judges have given up forcing a couple into counseling since most judges have learned that counseling won't work unless both parties agree to go to counseling.
That said, most courts are swamped with cases so, especially in the summer, it takes awhile to get a divorce.
In the Houston area, approx. 50% of the family judges are leaving their benches this year. Therefore, they are all taking all of their vacations before they leave the bench. A couple of sick and are taking all of their sick time. Since 50% of the judges are retiring, the courts are really slow right now.
Many small counties are also very slow.
Check with your attorney for the policies in your county.
If you don't have an attorney, you need one to walk you through this process.
Good luck!
