Was married in Florida last year now live in Texas.Which states maritial laws do I go by?

Marital property laws become significant issues when 1) a divorce suit is filed or 2) when a party dies and questions arise concerning the deceased person's will.

The court of the state in which you reside will assume the law of that state is applicable. If assets or debts were acquired in another state where the marital property rights are different, it will be necessary to prove what the law of the other state is and how it differs from the local law.
