Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

statued of limations on a warrant

My husband has a warrant from July of 2005. We just found out, someone told use that after this long the warrant was not enforceable. I want to know if this is true for a domestic violence warrant. The cousin did not press charges and the police did talk to my husband and let him leave. The police stated a wrong ss#, wrong tatoo markinga and wrong height for my husband.I just want to know what our options are.

Re: statued of limations on a warrant

Maybe.

The problem is that whether it is a valid warrant will be determined after he runs a stop sign, and gets arrested and jailed on the warrant. Instead, he should consult with a criminal defense lawyer to review all of the circumstances and determine if a Motion to Quash the Warrant is appropriate.
