Step Childern child support intitlement

Would I be intitle to child support for a step child. We were married in 1987 and he just file for divorce 14 feb 2000. My dauger was 2 years old when we married He did not adopt her, but he file for her social sercurty card and put her last name as his. legaly she has had his last name all her life.

Generally, step parents do not pay child support for

step children because they are not a "child of the

marriage." I do not believe that filing for a social

security card changes this rule, however I have never

seen a case address that question. I would ask other

attorneys what they think, but I believe that you would

not be able to collect child support from the step

father.
