Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My Step children

My husbands ex, whom he was never married to on paper but was with for 11 yeas, is in prison untill this April, we want to turmanate her right so that I may addopt them. How much would it be to file a potition to do that? And how do I go about doing it?

My answer is when somebody asks "how do I go about doing that" is to start reading the Family Code, and the Rules of Civil Procedure and all articles on the subject. It really isn't that much. I'm sure you could be proficient as a first year attorney in maybe 6-9 months depending upon whether you studied full time or part time. Everything you need to know is in there. Good Luck.

Terminations and Adoption are complicated procedures. Your best bet is for you and your husband to go talk to a good family law attorney and discuss the situation and your options in detail.
