Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Step Parent Adoption

Can I get a step parent adoption doen without a lawyer? My daughter is 4. Her bio father hasn't seen her since she was 1. She thinks my husband is her real father and he wants to adopt her. The bio father wants to relinquish all rights. This should be pretty easy since we are all in agreement. Money is a issue for me and I need this done soon before she starts kindergarden and learns that her last name is not the same as ours. How can I get this done quick and inexpensively?? Please Help!!

Re: Step Parent Adoption

Adoptions are complicated if you don't know what you are doing. Not all of the forms are available in the library. If you want to spend the time in the law library, you might be able to figure out how to do an adoption, but you could also make a mistake which could be expensive in the long run. If money is an issue, I can accept payments if you are in my area. Contact me by e-mail if you want my assistance.
