Re: step parent adoption

The bio. dad's rights must be terminated and step-parent files to adopt. It's 2 separate lawsuits that are kept together by the court.

The father's termination paperwork MUST be exact. The courts are very strict about that.

Then step-parent must be finger printed and a criminal background search done.

Then there is a social study.

An attorney is appointed to represent the interests of the child.
