Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

can i stop alimony?

My divorce decree states that alimony that I pay ends if my ex co-habitates with an unrelated male. This is happening (her boyfriend has moved in - and I have mail to prove it), but she will not admit this. What do I need to do to stop the alimony payments?

Re: can i stop alimony?

Yes, you can stop it. You will need to file a motion in the Court that granted your divorce. It is like a motion to modify in that it is a new lawsuit seeking to change the prior order; in your case to stop alimony payments. Let me know if I can assist you further.
