Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
The story is he and his "ex" wife had signed the divorce papers but she filed for bankruptcy and until that federal issue isresolved, the judge can't dissolve the marriage. Is that true? What recourse does he have and how long could it take?

He can ask the bankruptcy court to lift the stay for the sole purpose of allowing him to finish the divorce. It's pretty simple, and bankruptcy lawyers do it all the time.
