Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

can I sue the other woman?

My soon-to-be-ex-husband and I are going through a divorce because he had a mistress. I've done some searching and found out that I can sue her for alienation of affection. The only thing is that Texas (my state of residence) doesn't allow this type of sue, but Illinois (her state of residence) does allow it. My question is: can I sue her since Illinois allows people to sue for alienation of affection? And if I can, do I have to go there to be able to sue her? Thank you

You need to contact an attorney in Illinois to see if you have standing to bring a lawsuit in that state.
