Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I'm Being sued for child custody adoption from out of State
Hi. I am a supposed father of a 3 year old daughter in Conroe Texas that i still havent met. The mother left the country when she was approx 3 months pregnant back to Australia where my daughter was born. Then she met and married her husband who she resides with in Texas. Well, i recently have been served by the party in Texas to adopt my daughter and cut me off completly from her. I live in Burbank California. I do love my daughter and want to meet her and be in her life, although there never was a paternity test done and i did not marry the mother, I know a paternity test will have to be done first ordered by court.
So what do i do? I still have to respond to being served and i dont know how, and i'm running out of time. I have to have a response into the Conroe Texas court by 10:00a.m. Monday 2/26/2006. I also need legal aid since i dont work or have sufficiant funds to hire an attorney. Can you please help me?Thank you.
