Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Summer Visitation $$$$$

I am a non-custodial parent who has my son for the month of July. Do I still have to pay the ex child support for July? The child support order does not say I do or don't. Should I try to talk to the ex and ask for the July support since he is with me....or is this illegal? Also, the support is garnished from my wages so, should I go to the office where the support order was filed?

Yes, you still have to pay child support for July. There should be a general reference in the decree that during periods of possession, the support is not abated. Even if the phrase is not in your decree, it is how the court will rule. The law presumes that you will exercise visitation according to standard guidelines, and therefore has established a percentage for support that takes that into consideration.
