Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Summer Visitation w/Daughter
I have a question about my decree with the Summer possession of my daughter;
The decree states that I have possession with my daughter from July 1st through July 31st. But if I give the mother written notice by April 1st of a year specifying an extended period or periods of possession for that year, then I shall have possession of the child for 30 days beginning no earlier than the day her school is dismissed for summer vacation and ending no later than 7 days before school resumes at the end of summer vacation, to be exercised in no more than 2 seperate periods of at least 7 consecutive days each. Can you please tell me exactly what this means? Do I get my daughter for July 1st through July 31st, plus I can get her for an ''Extended'' amount of summer too?

Re: Summer Visitation w/Daughter
You still get thirty days.
However the beginning and ending dates can be other than the usual July 1 to July 31 time period.
You could have possession from June 1 to June 30 for example.
You can also have possession in two periods of at least 7 days each. It would still need to add up to 30 days, however.
In that case an example would be 15 days at the beginning of summer vacation and 15 days at the end of summer vacation.
