Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
support for college expenses
My daughter is 18 and the child support has stopped. She will be attending A&M @ college station for the fall semester and her father is refusing any support. Can I take him back to court to get help with college expenses?

Re: support for college expenses
No.
Child support for a healthy, normal child ends when the child graduates from high school or turns 18, whichever is later.
After 18, it is voluntary.
In Texas, the day the child turns 18, the child is an adult (ok -- I know that no parent feels like the baby is an adult -- but it is the law in TX!)
She can do whatever she wants the moment she turns 18. Including no longer visiting her father.
If the child is permanently disabled, then my answer would be different.
