Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

support for a grown child

My son is now 28. His father and I got divorced in Texas when he was one. It was set up for him to pay me $150 per month child support. I never received the first payment. I raised my son in FL. Can I still go after my ex for all the back child support he owes me?

You can definitely enforce the owed child support. There is no time limit on that because because it is a vested right. Furthermore, you can enforce in Florida courts.

You should report the father to the Office of the Attorney General of Texas or where the father has been residing. Unpaid child support is a hot topic for the last 8 years in Texas.
