Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Not being Supported
My husband left Texas to go to work for a company that has not been paying him on a regular basis. They have also bounced some pay roll checks. He refuses to leave the company stating that he is stuck up there with the apartment lease and all. He believes it will get better. Meanwhile my rent and bills are all over due and some of my checks have bounced and automatic payments returned. I work as a teachers aide and am currently going to school to be a teacher and I am wondering if there is any legal way for me to distant myself from his so called income so that I can get some public assistance until I am to get my degree and get a better job?

Re: Not being Supported
File contempt on him and get him ordered to pay child support.
If the employer is not paying his child support through wage withholding, it is still your ex-husband's burden to follow the orders the court entered.
Good luck!
