If you surrender parental rights in the state of TX, do you still have to pay child support?

Don't forget that there are two very important steps:

1. Dad signs an Affidavit of Relinquishment of Parental Rights.

2. Somebody (usually Mom) files a suit for termination AND prosecutes it to a final judgment AND the final judgment says "Dad's rights are terminated."

AFTER ALL THAT HAPPENS, Dad's child support obligation terminates.
