Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
teen pregnancy and amancipation
both of my sisters are pregnant one is 16 years old and one is 17 Janice the 16 year old is due next month and Britney the 17 year old is due in October. They are both interested in coming to live with me and my husband. They currently live with my father and his girlfriend in Mississippi. My mother lives is Brownwood TX an hour away from me. I am in Abilene. Both of the baby's fathers live is this town. I want to see what I have to do to get them to live with me and get them both amancipated. The situation with my parents is a very unstable and rocky one. They need to be in an environment where they will be secure and stable and with us is just that. My father is not making them go to school, with me it wont be an option. I am a stay at home mom and will watch their children while they are at school but they have no support at all where they are. I have a 2 year old daughter of my own and would be more than happy to help them through this.

Re: teen pregnancy and amancipation
FIRST -- you are offering to do a nice thing for them -- but your first consideration needs to be your husband and your child.
The 17 year old can petition for emancipation. The 16 year old needs the primary conservator, dad, to agree to a change in conservatorship (as to both or at least the youngest).
The two dads need to step up and pay child support.
All of these actions require a court order, and separate proceedings. Get a lawyer that will work with you on payment arrangements. Good luck. TCL
