Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Temporary child custody

My sister in law will have a warrant out for her arrest on friday. She has a 2 year old child that my husband and I would like to care for while she is in jail. The child's father is also in jail and will be for the next 3 years. My sister inlaw is in full agreement that we keep her child, while she is unable. Can she write as much on paper and sign it? Does it have to be notarized? Or does the whole process have to be done by an attorney?

Re: Temporary child custody

Get a lawyer to file an Agreed Motion and Order of Modification placing you and your husband as Manageing conservators of her child. It will be agreed and reasonable in cost. Not doing it through the courts often results in much chaos later.
