Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Temporary Custody

Daughter left husband with 3 children. Two of the children are not his. Drugs/abuse were the reason for leaving. Father of son 5 yrs. old filed and received Emergency TRO. Made some false allegations to Judge, without her appearance and received ETRO. Hired an attorney (after receiving copy of ETRO (father had child removed from school and is now in his custody) for court hearing, and she did not address the allegations in ETRO. Only issue was that she and her husband had been using drugs. (Had urine - negative, hair showed Amphetamines only) Father of 5 yrs old believed child was not in a safe environment. But child was now living with Grandparents (which was always a safe environment). How can I (Grandparent) become involved to act on her behalf, without the attorney. I'm no expert, but have been observing courts for almost ten years. I know basic court procedures. What motions do I file? Copy of sample would help. Thanks.

Re: Temporary Custody

HIRE A GOOD LOCAL LAWYER.If you try this your self you will get burned and cause the child more problems. I have been involved with both opposing grandparents in your position and trying to unstuff cases brought by well meaning people like your self.

Ask your self this, if you had watched one hundred or so episodes of ER, would you try and remoce a bullet loged in some ones body based on your observations or would you call a doctor? If the situation is really that bad, hire a good local lawyer.
