Temporary guardianship of minor child

I would like to appoint temporary guardianship of my 15 year old child. I will be traveling for employment reasons.This needs to be done immediately.

You should see a lawyer and get this done "immediately". Be aware that "immediately" in courts usually means 30 days. Occasionally emergency proceedings can take place in a matter of minutes, but this usually costs more when you ask a lawyer to drop what he/she is doing on other paying cases and devote "immediate" attention to your problem.

I assume that you are divorced. Then the other parent will need to be notified of the court proceeding and can ask for custody.

I think you want custody and not guardianship. They are not at all alike.

I urge you to discuss this decision with a family law attorney. You might not want to do it once you learn that this decision legally means.
