Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Temporary Restraining Order

I was just served with divorce papers and a temporary restraining order, I am currently in California and my husband is in Ohio (in jail), though he has filed these papers in Texas. The hearing is 7/1 in Texas, can I file a motion for a continuance or should I try to retain an attorney ASAP and apperar at the hearing? Is it advisable to appear at the TRO hearing w/o an attorney and work to retain a lawyer to help with the divorce proceedings? Is the TRO a standard process, my husband will not be there (obviously) but his attorney will. thank you.

Re: Temporary Restraining Order

You should contact an attorney in Texas, and ask about a motion to quash for lack of jurisdiction.
