Termination of Non-Custodial Parents Rights
My ex owes $20,000 in back child support, is unstable, a habitual offender (as identified by the courts), and his girlfriend gave birth to a heroin addicted baby almost a year ago. (Both he and her have been in jail and drug rehabs several times.) How do I terminate his parental rights? My children are 9 and 7 and neither want anything to do with him. They have complained of being in his care while he his drinking alcohol. They are fearful of him. I cannot afford a lawyer. The father recenly started paying support after neglecting to do so for over one year. Only pays now because he recieves unemployment. I moved out of state for a year and he only phoned twice. Collect! I am back in Texas and desperately need help!

local legal services unit for help because

both tasks are difficult without an attorney

unless you want to use the law library by

yourself. If so, look at the Texas Family Law

Practice Manual for help. You may also try

probono clinics offered by the local bar
