Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My Texas child support case was changed to 'registry only' after I submitted paperwork for it to be closed. Does this mean the child support case has been closed? Backstory: I am the CP. The NCP has not been heard from for nearly 7 years. There are no court ordered child support payments or custody arrangements.

In order to find out if your child support case has been closed and I assume that you're talking about a case that was pending in court you would need to check with your district clerk.

Or you can spend the next two weeks putting in phone calls to the Attorney General and being given the runaround.

What you want to find out is whether or not there is anything pending under your case number whether or not there are any live pleadings that have not yet been resolved and have not yet been brought to trial.

It occurs to me that there may be something going on in your case that you don't really understand if there are no court-ordered child support payments, then there's no reason for it to be a "registry only" case. The registry is what keeps track of payments.
