You are asking a trick question.

The age is NOW 18.

The legislature has changed the law. It used to be at 12 the kid could designate which parent they wanted to live with. Last year the legislature eliminated that form. Now the kid MUST meet with the Judge.

What you probably don't know is that the decision was ALWAYS up to the Judge to decide who the kid lived with.

The kid could never decide who they lived with until they turned 18.

THE JUDGE ALWAYS HAD THE FINAL DECISION!!

SO YOU WERE ASKING A TRICK QUESTION!
