Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Can Texas Non-Custodial Fathers be Made to Comply with Visitation Orders
Is there ANY WAY in the State of Texas to make court ordered visitation MANDATORY for the non-custodial father? He and I were never married, so there is no divorce decree, just a Court Order.
He lives approximately 40 miles away. As our 10 year old daughter is becoming a teen, I'm afraid that they will never truly bond, and she has 3 half siblings & a stepmother who have met her & are truly kind to her but she is only very rarely allowed to see them because her father controls when or if he/they can see her. He was married at the time when our daughter was conceived for 17 years (unbeknownst to me), and is still married to the same woman.
It is totally and completely unfair to me, the custodial parent, to have to grant time to the father when its CONVENIENT for him to see her. And normally he only calls that day or rarely the day before he wants time with her, and then their visit can last anywhere from an hour to a couple of days (only when Ive BEGGED him to take her for a weekend).
Please tell me that there is SOMETHING I can do, whether it be through the Atty Gens Office or thru a private atty. She deserves to know her father and siblings and I deserve time by myself occasionally.
Thank you in advance.

Sorry, the Court can make him pay support for his child but it can't make him be a good daddy and bond with and visit his child. You could consider asking for a modification of support based on his failure to exercise his visitation and your increased expenses because of that failure. You should talk to a good family law attorney.
