In Texas, does the parent that is required to insure the child get a credit for the premium paid towards the child support?

I assume that you're talking about "a credit" in connection with the calculation of the child support.

To calculate child support in Texas, we start with the Payor's gross income.

We take his health insurance premium off the top - the part that is for the children.

Then we apply the tax charts (to allow for federal taxes):

The resulting amount (his "net") is what we apply the percentage to - usually it's 20% for one child.
