Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
In Texas if a 17 year old moves out of their parent's house to live with an adult, is the parent still financially responsible for their medical bills, legal troubles, etc? Does permission of the parent matter?

For criminal purposes at 17 the child is an adult.
But, for civil purposes the child is still a child until 18.
A parent is "technically" responsible for their minor child for certain things until a child turns 18.
If I were the child's parent, I would continue to insure the child on my car and health insurance. I would talk to my insurance agent for guidance.
I would also talk to an attorney for guidance.
I would also pray that the child reaches 18 soon.
The moment the kid turns 18 the child is an adult and you are no longer liable for anything!
