Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am thinking of enlisting in the army. the only thing stopping me is my wife has a child from a previous marriage, and their custody agreement states the child has to live in a 50 mile radius or something like that.. my question is: If I join the army, can they come with me?

Based on what you have written, your wife may have to go back to the court which issued the order setting such a restriction and submit a motion to modify the terms. Your wife should consider the possibilities of whether or not the child's father will be agreeable to such a modification, how much interaction the child's father has with the child, and various other items surrounding the child's best interest. You are your wife probably should consult with a local law firm to get a full understanding of what may and may not happen in such a motion.
