Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Time limit for receiving medical receipts/expenses?

My husband's decree states that he is responsible for

1/2 of his children's medical expenses (which we do

not have a problem with). We've always paid our share,

whenever we received a receipt or bill.

My husband's ex-wife is now "modifying child support"

and has brought to our attention medical bills from up

to 5 years back, and wants payment right away!

She does not have insurance on the children, so some

of these expenses are quite steep.

Is there a time limit in which we must receive these

medical expenses before we are no longer responsible?

Or can she hold these bills as long as she

Re: Time limit for receiving medical receipts/expenses?

If your husband has proof of paying his share of medical expenses, he might have to pay only those bills which were not submitted. If your husband has apparently paid the medical expenses, the ex would have to show that he received the bills and never paid his share. This would all be evidentiary and likely be required to be resolved in a trial.
