Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

time limits on final signing of papers

I filed for divorce in May of 2001. We were scheduled for mediation in Decemeber and at last minute ex agreed to terms of divorce and waived mediation and his attorney was to draw up the papers. It is now March and still no word on papers. After a call to his attorney they informed us that the paers were sent to him. He was called and confirmed that he did have them but didn't know if he would sign them and wouldn't tell me how long he had them. Legally how long does he have to ''sit'' on these final papers? I am at wits end with him.

Re: time limits on final signing of papers

This is a matter to be discussed with your attorney. I cannot give you advice while you are the client of another attorney.
