Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

time period concerning leagal guardianship

Recently my children (ages 16 & 15) have left home and are now residing with their grandparents. Their father and I are still married and we want our kids home, however, to force them home would be a battle. The grandparents disregard our rules and encourage the kids with unlimited money and things...ie.. a new mustang convertible and such. I'm wondering though how long do they need to reside with the grandparents before they (the enabling grandparents) can obtain legal guardianship over my kids.

Re: time period concerning leagal guardianship

It might be time to assert yourselves with your children and with the grandparents. Apparently for some time you have allowed these people to think that you are not the bosses of your own family. I recommend you hire a lawyer, get your kids home, do some fast education about the values in life, and legally notice the grandparents where their rights begin and end.
