Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
For the second time in less than a year a sister of mine has put a claim into the State of Texas that I am abusing my father. My father is elderly, lives with me and my wife. The first time all investigations showed that it was a false claim, now today another one. What legally can I do to stop her from this harassment?

Complaints of elder abuse are typically taken very seriously because it is a real and serious problem. If your sister is abusing those protections for her own gain or to harass you then you may need to file suit against her (or threaten to file suit) for defamation and abuse of the system. You may want to talk to an attorney about these claims. A strongly worded letter threatening suit may be enough to make her back off.
