Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I was told that I can get a divorce by placing a public notification in the newspaper and if my husband doesn't respond to contest it I will leagally be divorced. Is this true?

Not even close. There is a publication requirement for cases where you cannot find the other party. You still have to do everything that you would in a normal divorce. This is even more expensive because the court will hire a lawyer (that you pay for) to find your husband. The only thing that this gets you is that your husband will be served (notified) that there is a divorce suit pending.
