Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

travel rights for visitation

I have joint custody of my 9 year old daughter. I am planning a career change which will move me 3 hours from where she resides. I have asked my ex-wife to meet me half way two fridays a month, and I will bring her all the way back on sunday nights, then to school on monday mornings. She wont do it. She states I can get her longer in the summer. What rights do I have to see my daughter? I love her dearly, visit as scheduled, and pay child support every month as well as provide medical insurance.

Re: travel rights for visitation

Since you are the one moving away, your ex-wife will not be required to meet you half-way.

You need to read your Final Decree of Divorce.

Perhaps a modification is in order.

Give me a phone call if you want a price quote for a modification.

Good luck!
