treatment for a drug abuser
my mother is a drug addict and has been for over 20 years she has now lost her job her home her family and she has been in and out of jail for possession, theft, fraud, possession with intent to distribute among other offenses i have recently located her agian and i want her to go into a detox and treatment facility but she doesn't want to is there any way I can have her admitted against her will if so how do i begin that process anyy help withthis problem is welcome i am afraid that if something isn't done soon she will die

Honestly, you want to do something that you do not have the power to accomplish. If you can convince a judge that she is a danger to herself and/or others, you can probably get a 72 hour commitment -- but not sure what that will accomplish for a drug addict that is not seeking out the help. Additionally, if you prove she is incompetent, you can consult an attorney regarding guardianship -- but again am not sure that if a drug addict does not want help, that there is any point.
As difficult as it is, you may need to walk away from this situation, and reclaim your own life.
