Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I turn 17 in a week. I would like to leave home and I've read a lot about whether or not it can be done. What I have read is that in the state of Texas, a 17 year old can leave home without parental or guardian consent. I have also read that a 17 year old can only be filed as a missing person, not a run away, and that if the parents know where the child is going and they do file a report, it is considered filing a false police report and can get the parents themselves in trouble. My main question is; If I choose to leave home at 17, can my mother have law enforcement bring me home against my will? The help would be appreciated.

You parents / guardians determine where you live until you turn 18 unless you are emancipated by a court. If you leave without permission, your parents can report you as a runaway and have you returned home. Anyone who provides you with a place to stay can be prosecuted for harboring a runaway.
