Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I don't understand? Please help!

My parents are going through a divorce and my mom does not understand all the legal Jargon...please help! The letter reads:

Dear Ms. Smith,

This letter is to advise you of the status of your case. First, I am enclosing correspondence from your husband's attorney containing documentation of his retirement which you had requested. Second, my office had sent you a Dismissal Notice from the Court on October 2, 2006. Since no response was received, the Court dismissed the case. If you wish to proceed with the case, it will be necessary to file a Motion to Reinstate prior to the end of the month?

My mom did not receive the letter that her lawyer claims his office sent her on October 2, 2006.

Thank you in advance for you assistance!

Re: I don't understand? Please help!

A case can be reinstated by request (motion) to the Court within 30 days. Sounds like that time has passed. Some exceptions apply. Sounds like you need to get an attorney that you can talk to and explain what's happening in your case.
