Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Unfit mother

My soon to be ex and I have temporary orders from the court but he is dragging his feet on signing the final paperwork. He is now living with his girlfriend, but threatens to take me back to court stating that I am an unfit mother because I have left my children with a babysitter to go out a couple of time because he refused to pick them up on his weekends. I receive no child support, although he was ordered to pay and he sees his children as often as he wants. I never hold them from him. What are the chances that he could actually take them from me.

Re: Unfit mother

There is so little information about the family and it is only one side of the story, so it is hard to say anything. I would note that it is not improper for a parent to have a baby sitter watch children while it is improper for a parent to refuse to suppport the children.
