Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am an unwed mother of a 2.5 year old. I was never married to his father and we have never gone to court..a.k.a we have no papers for custody/visitation. His father is incarcerated and I recently moved to texas...when he gets out will he have to file here since we live here? and could I try to terminate rights since he hasnt seen my son or contacted him in over a year? Hes never paid child support and owes 15,000 for his first child, 12,000 for mine..and resitution to AT&T for 26,000. hes currently in prison for burglery and just got a case dropped for accessory to murder as well but was never charged due to insufficient evidence even though he confessed.

If you've "never gone to court," how does he owe you "12,000 for mine"?

You probably (almost certainly) have grounds to terminate his parental rights. You'll need a lawyer for this.
