Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

What are the visitation rights of never-married parents? The father of my son states that the standard (in Texas) is for the father to see the child at least 4 days a week: two weekdays and every weekend. (I thought it was every other weekend.) He has another child from a previous marriage, so maybe the rights are different? Anyway, we live 5 1/2 hours away from one another, so having him see his son 4 days a week is just impossible.

I offer consultations for $1 per minute. Most people spend 2 hours with me ($120).

I can give you the basic Texas guidelines.

However, visitation depends on many things (1) age of child (2) distance you live from each other.

What he says does not make any sense. If the child is under 3, many times the man gets 3-4 visits per week for 1-2 hours each visit. He normally visits the child in the home of the other parent.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU TALK TO AN ATTORNEY WITH A LOT OF FAMILY LAW EXPERIENCE.

The dad's comments make no sense to me based on your email.

Good luck!

I do evening and week-end appointments.
