Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

visitation

my son is 13 and has at times decided that he didn't want to go with his father for visitation. My question is do I have to make him go or at his age can he decide to stay home?

Re: visitation

I doubt there is any permissive language in the language of visitation that allows the CHILD to make up his mind about visitation or that grants you the authority to give him permission. As a matter of fact, YOU will be the one held in contempt for your son's failure to go. Someone needs to spend a little time on the why rather than the how. It would be a very valuable investment in the future and probably about the same effort. Good Luck.
