visitations

my ex husband was convicted of murder 7/08 and sentenced to life. his parents like to see our child who will be 4 years old in feb. ( ex has been in jail since my son was 14 months) ..well in our divorced dec. it said he has visitation rights througha safe program......since he is in jail does my child have to take trips to see him in prison? my sons grandparents want to start taking him every few months. but can i say no and not ge introuble with the law??

Without actually reviewing your decree all I can comment on is what you have written, but if the decree says he only gets visitation through the Safe Program, that's what it means, not the grandparents get to take the child to the prison when they want to just because he's in jail. Your best bet would be to talk with a good family law attorney who can review your decree and explain everything to you.
