Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Wanting to change residence restriction.

I want to move from texas to indiana. I have a residence restriction though there is a claus in my divorce papers stating if my ex misses 3 child support payments I can move back to indiana. He has almost missed 2 but i would like to move back to indiana soon. I have remarried and my new spouse and could get better careers there and both of our families reside in indiana. what are my options and how do I get my papers modified so we can move to indiana?

Re: Wanting to change residence restriction.

You have several choices:

1. Wait until he misses three payments.

2. Negotiate with him to get his agreement to the move in writing. (which most decrees allow).

3. Hire a lawyer to petition the court for a removal of the restriction (not an easy solution).
