Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Wanting Full Custody Of My Newborn Son

Would these facts make a good case for me to get full custody. Is there such thing as half custody, maybe custody every 3 or 4 days?My girfriend and I are unmarried. She smoked and drank through the first 7 months of her pregnancy. She said she hoped the pregnancy would go away. She told me Im lucky shes a procrastinator otherwise she would have got an abortion. She said she considered never telling me and giving my son to her sister. She is in credit debt, has multiple speeding tickets on her record which she paid.Shes made it clear to everyone she never wanted children or to get married. She will not breastfeed. I have a steady job,no trouble with the law.Own my own home and car.Have my parents and siblings support to help care for my son. The child is unborn. If I go to court and lose she'll keep him away from me, and I'll get my lousy weekend at best.If we dont go to court I can live with her in a brand new home shes demanding me to buy,on her parents land, have to cut my long hair to her mothers liking, sleep in separate rooms, have my son baptized catholic and circumcised against my wishes. My son has not been born yet but I need to know if I have a good case. Please Help.

Re: Wanting Full Custody Of My Newborn Son

Why are you waiting to hire a lawyer? There are procedures and processes that can be instituted upon the birth of your child, but it takes time to prepare and file, and set for hearing. Am not sure why being baptized Catholic is a problem :) or being circumsised is a problem :), but if you want a level of conservatorship and control beyond being a weekend dad, you should have your plans in place now.
