i have weekend custody of my daughter governed by a standard visitation order my question is as follows:

does a school cancellation on a Friday or Monday on my scheduled weekend work the same as a school holiday scheduled on my weekend?

I would say YES. Depending on how old your decree is, it might have a definition that covers this issue.
