Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Me and my wife have decided we want to file for a no fault divorce here in texas. We have a two year old son that we had together and she has a 9 year old daughter she had from a previous relationship. We have already talked about and decided everything and we just want to get a divorce without the courts dictating what we have to do. We are still friends, it's not like we hate each other, but it seems the the courts think that if we want a divorce that we hate each other. That's not the case there is just no love left in our relationship we are more like roommates at this point. Like I said we have already decided how we want to work things out with the kids and everything else we just want to be legally divorced with no strings attached. How do we go about doing this?

You can hire an attorney to draft the paperwork. No competent family law attorney will attempt to represent both of you. But I've done many divorces where the parties just want the paperwork done.

If you have entered into some "unique" agreements then you might want to mediate to put your agreement in a Mediated Settlement Agreement that is binding on you and the judge.

I hope this answers your questions.
