Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My ex wife (divorced 4 months ago) wants copies of our last 4 years tax returns. She's in financial trouble and won't say what's she's using it for. I don't care if she puts herself further in debt but I'm concerned about what she's using my personal tax information for.
I'm sure I'm not liable for whatever scam or other venture she gets into but I don't like having my personal tax returns given to whatever entity she's dealing with. Is there some way I can legally force her to disclose what she's using my tax information for?

First, read your divorce decree. What does it say about giving each other copies of tax returns.
Second, if you are not required to give them to her then don't do it.
Third, I would not give anyone a copy of my tax return unless I was required to do so. I would black out my Social Security Number first. You are divorced so you don't have to be in contact with her anymore.
Lastly, she can get copies of her tax returns directly from the IRS - she just contacts the IRS for copies. She does not need to get them from you.
