Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

When my wife and i married she was buying a house, i moved in and contributed to the household income. We sold that house and used the proceeds to make a down payment on another house. When my grandmothers estate settled i received a sizeable inheritance which i promptly payed off our house. Years later my wife now wants a divorce is this house community property? The inheritance i payed on the house was approximately 70% of the asking price of the house. We live in Texas. Thank you.

This sounds like a question on the final exam of Marital Property 201.

Unless there's something you haven't told us, the house is community property, but your separate estate has an interest in it. I hope you have documentation showing that the payoff money came from your inheritance.
